This beautiful bamboo and rice paper umbrella decorated with a painted Dragon and Phoenix is from the 1940s. It was an estate find and the family was nice enough to share that her grandfather had brought this back home with him from being stationed in southeast Asia.

This umbrella/parasol has been wrapped up and stored for decades in a heated storage.

All moving parts function as they should with no broken arms or joints. No splits in the rice paper.

Its amazing the workmanship that went into constructing this piece out of bamboo and rice paper only. There is no metal used.

Measures - 18" across the hood when fully opened.

                    Also 14¼" in length when closed (see photo)
