Struck in bronze at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia for New York veterans who participated in the Battle of Gettysburg. Approximately 11,000 medals were produced and awarded to verified veterans. A desirable Civil War veteran commemorative medal.

Reverse: New York State Monument located in the Gettysburg National Cemetery with inscription dates "1863" and "1893" flanking the monument. Border of oak and laurel wreaths.
