A: It indicates 14K gold filled — a layer of real 14K gold bonded to a base metal core, with gold content 1/20 of the item’s total weight (industry standard marking).
Q: Is gold filled the same as gold plated?
A: No — gold filled has a much thicker bonded gold layer than standard plating, so it’s typically more durable and longer-wearing with normal use.
