The Speedway – Indianapolis, Ind. – Pre-1937 -  Linen Postcard Unused

 Vintage postcard looking much different from more current cards.  Generally open space in the middle of the track.  Noted on the back:  “The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the foremost brick motor race course in the world.”   Very good condition. 

Per Google: “The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), known as "The Brickyard," was paved with 3.2 million, 10-pound bricks in 1909 to replace a failing stone surface, creating a durable 2.5-mile oval. While most of the track was covered in asphalt by 1937, a 36-inch (1-yard) strip remains exposed at the start-finish line, honoring its history”
