Lita Roza was a huge star of the 1950s and was voted Britain's 'Top Female Singer' 1951 - 1955 consecutively. 

She sang with the Ted Heath Orchestra, alongside Dickie Valentine and Dennis Lotis before going solo.

Lita was the first British female singer as well as the first singer from Liverpool to have a chart topper (with 'How Much is That Doggie in The Window').

Here, the author recounts his 15 year friendship with Lita Roza (with 6 months out after a disagreement about singer, Kathy Kirby). Mark Willerton recalls how he met her and how they became friends, with correspondence from the first five years of their friendship.

Includes Lita's views on her records she disliked the most, memories of Lita's sister Alma Warren, and her anecdotes about the infamous Kray Twins.
