The genuine part uses a fine-mesh ceramic catalyst (600 cells + 400 cells), while this product employs a low-density metal catalyst (150 cells × 2).
The connection to the turbo utilizes lost-wax casting, and the vehicle-specific design significantly reduces exhaust resistance.
By optimizing the precious metal ratio and pursuing an exhaust-efficient structure, it achieves both purification performance and low backpressure, earning official exhaust gas certification.

This product features a mirror finish achieved through buff polishing and utilizes TIG welding, emphasizing aesthetic quality.
The basic layout follows the OEM catalyst. Through repeated trial and error based on OEM catalyst data, performance targeting flow bench test and emissions test clearance was pursued in-house. By reducing the catalyst cell count to 150 cells and enlarging the inner diameter, maximum low back pressure was achieved.
In flow bench testing, the HKS Metal Catalyzer reduces exhaust resistance by approximately 51% compared to the OEM catalyst.
Upgrading to the HKS Catalyzer decreases exhaust resistance, enabling power gains expected around 3800 to 6500 rpm even on vehicles equipped with the OEM muffler. In-house testing achieved maximum gains compared to stock of:
