This is an excellent example of one of my all-time favourites!  A 1972 Seiko 5 Sports Speed-timer with an unpretentious, pleasant coloured dial and unique in the Seiko range, a 4 level dial; the sub dial, main dial, index markers and chapter ring are each on a separate level. All functions operate perfectly. Overall, this watch presents and performs faultlessly.

The glass is new, was replaced in the overhaul.

The case is in great condition with only light patina and light signs of wear. Has been lightly re-finished.

The bracelet is new, quality stainless steel similar to the original in style and quality.

The 6139A movement is very nice in fact, downright beautiful, with no corrosion or blemishes. It has been professionally overhauled/serviced and is guaranteed.

Functionality:

This watch has just been professionally overhauled/serviced and all functions operate correctly, elaborated below:

Runs very well, keeps good time and maintains a power reserve of approx. 42 hours from fully wound

Day and date function correctly and the quick change mechanism functions, as it should, by pressing the crown, half way in to change the date and all the way in to change the day.

The chronograph buttons are taught with new seals fitted and operate smoothly. It starts, stops and resets to zero precisely with a firm action.

Overhaul/Service explained

I am often asked about what an overhaul entails. So I have started adding a photo of the movement, disassembled ready to go through the cleaning machine. All old dried up lubricants and anything else that shouldn't be there is cleaned away. Then, it is reassembled, lubricated, adjustments made and regulated. Seals are also replaced as needed.

About vintage mechanical watches:

A vintage mechanical watch will not perform like a modern quartz (electronic) watch. It is not ideal as a daily wearer. It should be treated for what it is, something old, classical and special.  Treat it as you would a vintage car - not ideal to use as a “daily driver”. Keep it in the condition at which you bought it and it will hold or, indeed, increase its value. Use it every day and it will go backwards.
