This ad is for a snout/nose rebuild bearing and seal set including oil for the Eaton M112 supercharger for the vehicle below.

These are selected to match the high speed, temperature and specific supercharger clearances as required by OE specification. All bearings are sourced from genuine Authorized distributors or Eaton direct.

Supercharger oil will be provided in the closest size bottle in stock at our disposal. The minimum quantity provided will be as shown above, being the fill quantity from empty for your supercharger.

Snout Failures:

Snout bearings and seals are one of the most common parts to wear out on a supercharger taking the undamped strain of the drive belt. Fortunately, with a few workshop tools such as a hydraulic press and if needed a blow lamp they can be replaced with this kit. A major sign that your bearings might need to be replaced is a rumble and/or elevated rotating noise from the supercharger. If you are experiencing rattling, this may be a sign that a more comprehensive kit including case bearings, or a coupler are required.

Supercharger Oil:

Most motor manufacturers overlook the strain placed on oil by high rotational speeds of superchargers and treat the oil as being filled for life – this is not good practice! Often, by 40 or 50,000 miles and certainly at higher mileages, the oil can already be contaminated from general wear and tear of the internal bearings and gears. All rotating components can start to fail at any point in their service life, changing the oil isn’t advised because the oil itself is degrading but more to act as a diagnostic tool to determine if the supercharger internals are still running safely.

To preserve supercharger life, we advise changing from as early as 40,000 miles or earlier for race applications.

Optional Coupler/Isolator:

Couplers are a very common failure, in most cases if you are experiencing a rattle from the supercharger primarily at idle, the coupler is the cause. We advise inspecting the thoroughly, common failures are broken/worn springs (sprung type) and cracked plastic. Before dismantling, check for lash in the drive between the pulley and the rotors. There should be no lash on solid couplers and from 0-1.5mm at your fingertips on sprung couplers. Look carefully as hairline cracks will open in service, this also applies to ageing solid couplers. Please note that this kit does NOT include a coupler however if interested we supply standard and solid versions. Please see our other listings or enquire.
