Sebastiano “Nello” Imbesi (born in 1930 in Messina, Sicily) was an Italian luthier known for his handcrafted violins and other string instruments. He trained under the respected Sicilian maker Giovanni Lazzaro of Messina, from whom he inherited the traditional techniques of the regional violin‑making school. After completing his apprenticeship, Imbesi moved to Palermo in 1964, where he established his own workshop and worked for several decades.
