An antique Chinese blue and white porcelain plate from the Qing dynasty. Similar plate designs was found in the Tek Sing shipwreck cargo. The Tek Sing shipwreck, often called the "Titanic of the East," is one of the most famous Chinese maritime disasters. In 1822, the Tek Sing sank in the South China Sea while en route from China to Southeast Asia. The ship was carrying a massive cargo of Chinese porcelain, as well as other trade goods.
