Although not an original piece from the Ming Dynasty, this 11" vessel is very old. Was purchased in China in the early 1970s looking as it does now with obvious signs of age/patina and repair work. The wax seal indicates it was approved to be sold in China but it not an antiquity that would need to stay in China. (Based on my research) It is made by hand and hand painted. There are many reproductions of pieces from the Ming Dynasty that have their own merit. The patina on this piece makes it a special and interesting piece for display and collection.
