1995 Upper Deck Electric Diamond Golds!
I currently have a large number of cards from this set up for bid, listed as singles, so do please make sure to check out my other listings. The 1995 UD Electric Diamond Golds are an enigmatic parallel. Why did they make those gold holograms look so similar to the one per pack silvers!? Held in the right light or next to a known silver example the difference is pretty easy to pick out. But for player collectors, this can prove a tough one. The Series 1's are reasonably challenging. However the Series 2 was another issue entirely. With the strike the year prior in 1994, baseball cards, especially a second series were not selling well in 1995. As such the production run for Series 2 was dramatically smaller than Series 1. I would peg it at less than 20% the volume. Add to that the distribution method - poorly designated cards that were sold only in Retail packs often consumed by novice collectors and you have a seriously rare parallel on your hands! It is interesting in tracking the set for the past 10 years - I would peg the number of Series 2 Electric Golds out there in the wild in the range of as little as 50. The rest were likely lost to time. For a 1995 issue such a minimal production run is incredibly tough, particularly for the well collected players out there. Thanks for looking.
I stock a large variety of rare serial #'d inserts from the 1990's and early 2000's, so please make sure to check out my other listings and feel free to inquire if there is anything you are looking for. I only list on ebay when there are free listing promotions so what you see is only a small sampling of my inventory. Thanks!
