βπΊπΈ RARE STANDARD U.S.A. POCKET WATCH β HIGH GRADE SWISS MOVEMENT π¨πβ
This is a beautiful and increasingly hard-to-find Standard U.S.A. pocket watch, fitted with a high-quality Swiss lever movement made for the American market. The dial is clearly marked Standard U.S.A., while the movement itself is signed New York Standard Watch Co. U.S.A., a well-known distributor that sourced quality Swiss movements for their better-grade watches.
The movement displays striped Geneva-style finishing, gold gear train, and a precision regulator marked F / S, confirming this was built as a serious timekeeping watch, not a low-grade piece. The balance assembly appears intact, jewels are present, and there is no visible catastrophic damage. The movement is currently dirty from age and storage, but based on condition and construction, it should clean up very nicely with a standard service.
A small stamped number β43β is visible on the movement, which is consistent with an internal movement or batch number, not a case serial. Unfortunately, Standard Watch Co. did not publish surviving serial number charts, so an exact production year cannot be pinpointed. However, based on movement style, finishing, and regulator design, this watch dates to approximately 1915β1930.
The porcelain dial is in very good condition, with crisp black Arabic numerals, clean minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 oβclock. There are light hairlines consistent with age, visible in the photos, but no major chips or cracks. Hands appear original and correct for the period.
This watch is being sold as found, untested, and as-is, exactly as shown. Service will be required before regular use. Please examine all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
