Large Royal Worcester double-handled cream soup or bouillon cup with underplate, pattern number L 2437. The set is hand painted with beautiful roses and other florals in the central reserves inside the cup and saucer. The maroon-red rim and the creamy colored ground on the outside of the cup are heavily gilded in elaborate scroll motives. The saucer is hand signed by artist L. Barker in the floral center.

Near antique English china, ca. 1926, as dated with asterisk and 10 dots (5 to the left of the * and 5 to the right) under the hallmark. Backstamped with purplish Royal Worcester mark, Made in England and Made expressly for Ovington Bros Co New York. The latter was a well-known New York retailer specializing in fine china. 

Beautiful condition, appears to be unused, free of chips, scratches, or repairs. Shows aging in a way of minor crazing on the undersides with several superficial hairlines in the glaze on the bottom of the cup and underside of the saucer. Hand-painted flowers with multicolor enamels and extensive gilding over the gleaming porcelain are intact and vibrant. Please see the pictures for more details.

Capacity is 8 oz when filled to approximately 1/4 inches below the rim.
