This listing is for a head stack for a TEAC X-3, X-300 or Realistic TR-3000 that proved to be an uneconomic repair.

These heads were checked electronically - inductance was above 400mH for the play head and 12mH for the record head and visually wear is even. That's about 2/3 of the new vlaue and inductance is the best measure of head wear - plenty of life left.

These heads did not come in with fixed tape guides, so please install yours and first  check azimuth and then check that you can adjust playback levels to be equal for both channels using the procedure in the service manual. Don't try to adjust the head up and down - those adjustments are still sealed as set up in the factory.
