“Man vs Machine in the Checker Game of the Century”. A look back at the rematch checker game between Robert Nealey and the IBM 7094 Computer with a checkers program developed by Arthur Samuel.
- In 1962, the program played a publicized match against Robert Nealey. The single win by Samuel’s program was an historic event, but over time the accomplishment became exaggerated. This article gives details on the rematch where the final result was a win for Nealey, scoring one win and five draws.
