Vtg 1940s ESCOR Handmade Wooden Toy Train & carriages made by Disabled Servicemen Offered here is a fabulous piece for the vintage toy collector. These were made by disabled Servicemen in Bournemouth Dorset in the 1940s . They are all handmade from solid wood . They originally were pull along toys with a pegman doll. The original string has perished and the peg man train driver is missing. This has 3 carriages and the couplings . A peg from the back of the locomotive or engine is missing but is an easy replacement . This has the original paper label on the front and each piece is stamped on the underside with MADE IN ESCOR Reg Trade Mark ENGLAND This will appeal to those interested in military artefacts from the Second World War , and militaria , as these were made by injured service men from WWII or WW2 . THEY ARE A LOVELY QUALITY AND ARE IN NICE CONDITION. All the wheels turn and they are certain to last another 70 years and beyond.
