Kleinite is a rare mercury halide; found at only three locations worldwide. The best specimens come from the McDermitt Mine in northern Nevada, and we offer a good miniature of the species here. These specimens we offer were collected in 1962 and the stopes that held the kleinite collapsed more than 30 years ago. It is highly unlikely that any more be produced from the McDermitt Mine.

This is a very good miniature with crystallized areas of the rare mineral on matrix.
