This remarkable Acolyte Specimen Float 17ft rod is a much more powerful version of the original 17ft float. It provides excellent line 

management and float control, while the stiffened blank improves line pick up on the strike even at distance. The progressive 

through action remains crisp and well balanced and easy to fish for long periods of time.


Despite the powerful forward action, the tip remains soft enough for catching smaller fish with light hooklengths but the rod really comes into its own when using bigger floats for larger specimens. During development we went through multiple samples trying to achieve the right balance between action, power and weight before settling on what we think is the ideal long float rod. These were then extensively tested on a variety of venues over the past two seasons catching some very special fish. The Acolyte Specimen is the ideal big fish float rod.
