Who are Jamie's Computers?

The Society of St James (SSJ), trading as Jamie's Computers, is a UK registered charity. SSJ is a Southampton-based homelessness charity, providing a range of supported living services in Southampton, Portsmouth and across Hampshire. We provide a wide range of support to people from all walks of life experiencing homelessness, problematic alcohol or substance use and mental health problems.

Set up by SSJ in 2002, Jamie's helps recycle all kinds of IT and computer equipment, both professionally and ethically. We're located in Southampton. 70% of donated equipment is reused, recycled and upcycled to Microsoft standards. The rest is broken down into components and recycled, meaning that 0% of material goes to landfill. We also provide volunteering opportunities to give individuals the chance to learn practical skills in a real business environment.

Payment	Jamie's computers only accepts payments through eBay for items purchased on eBay. Items sold through auction must be paid for within 30 days. After 30 days the item is then offered to the next highest bidder.
Shipping	Jamie's Computers will only accept orders with a UK mainland shipping address. We aim to ship all items within 3 working days of payment using DHL or Royal Mail. We do not ship items over the weekends. Items may be collected from our storefront on weekdays between 09:00 and 16:00 by arrangement. Please ensure you bring your eBay collection code with you.
VAT Invoices	The Society of St James, trading as Jamie's Computers, is a UK registered charity. All purchases from the Jamie's Computers eBay store are 100% donations to the Society of St James. Donations to charity are not VAT-chargeable, as such all VAT Invoices requested will have 0% VAT rate.
Warranty	Warranty periods commence at the time of payment. - All items which are "New", "Opened - Never Used" or "Used" have a 6 month RTB warranty. - Where we have an appropriate replacement in stock we will send a replacement item. - If we do not have the item in stock we will issue a refund. - Laptop, phone and tablet batteries are not warrantied. - Items sold as "For Parts or Not Working" are not warrantied.
Returns	Returns must be authorised before shipment to us. - All UK buyers are entitled to exercise their right to return a purchase within 14 days. The buyer will pay for return shipping, and must ensure that the item arrives back with us in the same condition it was sent in. We will not issue a refund for any item which has been modified, or had parts added / removed by the buyer. - Where the item has been deemed faulty, incorrectly listed or damaged in transit Jamie's Computers will pay for return shipping cost. - We will endeavour to replace any faulty item returned to us like-for-like, if we do not have appropriate stock we will refund the buyer.
