Flavius Arcadius (383-408) was emperor of the Roman Empire at age 18. He was weak, vain, and spoiled. He was influenced by a Roman officer, Rufinus, and his daughter, Pulchuria who promoted the Cult of the Virgin Mary. Rufinus encouraged the Goths to invade Greece and destroy all their remaining pagan statues and temples. Arcadius died in his palace in Constantinople in 408 AD.
