The Meanwell NSP 75W, 100W, 150W, 200W and 320W units are "industrial" caged models designed to replace the RSP-75, RSP-100, RSP-150, RSP-200 and RSP-320 models. The NSP models are smaller and lighter, are more efficient, operate over a wider temperature range and have better isolation being approved for medical applications, SEMI47 and DEKRA. All NSP models have active PFC (Power Factor Correction)+ and reduced operating and inrush current as a result. All have remote ON/OFF control (ideal for switching loads on and off such as with temperature control of a heater or fan) and the 150W model and above have a DC OK signal and Remote Voltage Sensing. All 12V to 60V output models have 200% peak* current for 5 seconds and will recover automatically from overload provided that Vo > 30% (ideal for driving motors, lamps, DC-DC converters etc). They also have OTP Over Temperature Protection and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) and a 5 year Australian warranty. *200% when operated at 240VAC, 150% when AC input is less then 180VAC (see data sheet).

Please note that these Meanwell power supplies provide a "regulated" DC output and those less than 12V may not supply the wattage as suggested in the model no. (e.g. the NSP-320-5 provides 5V at 60 Amps hence it supplies 5 x 60 = 300 Watts max. not 320 Watts). They also operate from 95VAC to 280VAC input and provide an output voltage adjustable such that any voltage between 7V and 72V is possible. Many voltages such as 9V, 13.8V, 18V, 27.6V, 32V, 40V, 45V, 55.2V, 69V can be obtained for battery charging or other applications. For a video on adjusting the output voltage... click here NOTE: Meanwell sets all voltages at 50% output current... an insulated pot adjust tool is recommended... connecting to ALL output terminals is recommended as damage to terminals or the PCB can occur otherwise!
The low 30mm profile of the range makes it ideal for use in a 1U 19" rack cabinets and allows plenty of room for ventilation!
All Meanwell products have a 2 to 7 year warranty. MEAN WELL Enterprises Co., is a Taiwan based company started in 1982 with strong ties worldwide (some well-known companies re-badge their products) and they provide excellent support and backup. Meanwell is a TQM (Total Quality Management) company and is ISO9001 certified. In 2017, the 2-year return rate was 1 in 6600. Meanwell power supplies are extremely reliable in our experience with only one unit DOA (Dead On Arrival) that was replaced and three returned during the warranty period in the 15+ years we have been selling... one power supply had been installed in a control box outdoors (for advertising) and had been attacked by a nest of ants! Meanwell now offers a range of fully sealed units (IP65 and IP67 rated)... please ask us for advice for outdoor and hazardous environments. For a company video - click here.
Some "on-the-web" comments... 1. "I have hundreds of 600 Watt 24V Meanwells running in the field and probably another 100+ 350Watt 5V running in the field and they are the most reliable piece of equipment compared to everything else. I've -never- replaced one in over 11 years, but I have replaced a lot of cruddy circuit boards designed or assembled by the less technically inclined (companies).", 2. "But in the end I've learnt a lesson here and that is spend the extra cash and buy some quality power supplies like the meanwell brand or else you could be in for a very frustrating time but I don't have the budget for that this year so I'll have to deal with what I have (sad face)". 3. Need a decent power supply... I can recommend mean well supplies. They are low end industrial supplies but are good quality, much better than no-name chinese supplies you can get from ebay etc.. I use mean well in lots of equipment and have had very few failures in thousands of hours of run time.

*a re-written user manual is provided (in PDF format on CD-ROM) because we care that all products that we sell have clear and easily readable information and instructions with adequate warnings about any dangers or precautions that need to be taken! Beware of "fakes" and "look-a-likes" (with logos of "MWKJ", "M&W", "MiWi", "WH", "WeHo", "WaW", "MN", "MIEG WAEI", "NWJS" for example) these are often cheap, low quality products that do not meet the safety requirements for use in Australia. Also beware of purchasing these products from overseas as an Australian Warranty will not be provided. This unit has exposed 240VAC terminals and must be installed inside a suitable enclosure according to local electrical authority regulations. +NOTE, any power supply above 150W that does not have POWER FACTOR CORRECTION most-likely does not meet C-TICK or EMI requirements for use, on 240VAC mains in Australia! You can generally tell if a high-wattage (> 150W) power supply does NOT have "active" PFC because it will have a switch to select 115VAC or 230VAC. The advantage of "active" PFC is that not only is the AC mains current reduced (and of course "in phase" with voltage... something that power companies prefer), but the electrical interference (EMI) is reduced (less harmonics) BUT also it stablises the input allowing the AC voltage to vary greatly WITHOUT having to use a SWITCH which activates voltage doubling when the AC input is less than 180VAC.
