Title: "Three Women Viewing Cherry Blossoms on a Riverbank." Artist: Utagawa Kunisada (also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III). Period: The work was created around 1850 in the late Edo period. Description: The painting depicts a hanami (cherry blossom viewing) scene on the Sumida River in Tokyo (then Edo). Such depictions of bijin-ga (images of beautiful women) were typical of Kunisada, who was known for his works on kabuki actors, women, and the Tales of Genji. The cherry blossoms (sakura) symbolized the transience of beauty and youth. Size: 38 x 26 cm each print, they are attached to a thick paper  each. The item is used and has age-related signs of wear.
