Witten by Holland Thompson, a Sometime Fellow in Columbia University. Thompson became fascinated with the industrial transition in North Carolina, where he lived for a period of time.  He witnessed the transition from agriculture to industrial in NC towns, specifically the impact on cotton industry.


This copy was published by The Macmillan Company in 1906.  Physically a rough copy, binding is together but splitting. Dirty, dusty top edges.  Red duct tape has been applied to corners and outside spine.  Rough cut pages.


However, an antique & collectible.


An invaluable resource and source of historical insights,  to be sure.


Rough measurements of book are 7-1/4" × 5-1/2" × 1-1/4".  284 pages.
