This is a Set of Eight W2 Dining Chairs in Teak, initially designed by Hans J. Wegner for C.M. Madsen in Denmark in 1953. This set dates to the 1950s and has been recently redone in high-quality, black Italian leather. The listed price includes the set of eight as shown. Several of the chairs have the C.M. Madsen maker’s mark stamped onto the supports underneath their seats. The teak frames of the chairs have a lovely warm patina, and the chair’s lines are unmistakably Wegner.
Each chair measures 17 inches deep, 21.75 inches wide, and 29.5 inches high. They have a seat height of 17.75 inches. The teak has an exceptional grain on the backrests, and the frames are relatively free of scuffs and scrapes. There may be some light scuffs on the legs around the feet. Overall, this set is in very good condition. Please see photos.
