Up for sale, a 1982 Fender JV Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the very first year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar features the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan and to select international territories, tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck. The USA-made Fullerton-era pickups are a set of the coveted red bobbins, delivering an array of vital Strat tonalities with plenty of chime and clarity.
The bridge pickup has a bouncy sparkle and clear note attack, the neck is fat with a woody chop, while the “in-between” positions on the three-way pickup selector switch yield great chirp and honk. This JV-era Stratocaster ST57-65 weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Olympic White finish exhibits subtle yellowing, with very light wear where the forearm crosses the top, an area of shallow buckle rash at the belly contour, and some small dings and finish scratches. The ambered gloss on the neck profile exhibits several tiny, shallow nicks, none of which are distracting to the palm while fretting.
The original faux leather gigbag is included, along with the original Fender stickers.
