Andy Warhol's Mother Julia Warhola Original c.1957 Holy Cats Book

This rare, handmade book created around 1957 by Julia Warhola comes directly from Andy Warhol's estate. Warhol maintained a close relationship with his mother, Julia Warhola, who moved from Pittsburgh to live with him in New York City. Inspired in part by drawings Warhol himself was doing of cats, Julia Warhola created this whimsical book combining her religious devotion with her love of the devious feline.

This is a unique opportunity to purchase a book directly from Warhol’s own personal collection. Proceeds directly benefit the non-profit charitable organization he founded with the mission to advance the visual arts. Since its inception in 1987, The Andy Warhol Foundation has been a stalwart advocate for freedom of expression, supporting work that is experimental and challenging in nature and from communities that have been historically marginalized.
