This is a genuine flown/postally used piece of Zeppelin history, predating the famous 1937 Lakehurst disaster. Such early, mailed Hindenburg postcards are very scarce and highly desirable to both aviation enthusiasts and postal history collectors.

✍️ Translation of the message (reverse side):

Written in old German script. Rough translation of the main part:

“Warm greetings from Friedrichshafen. Today we had the chance to see the ascent of the new airship ‘Hindenburg’. An unforgettable sight! Hopefully all is well with you. Best regards, Name/signature

(Exact wording may vary slightly due to handwriting, but the message clearly refers to witnessing the Hindenburg at Friedrichshafen in early 1936.)

Condition:

Vintage original postcard (87 years old)

Some light corner/edge wear consistent with age

Clear postmark, stamp, and Zeppelin cachet intact

Excellent collectible condition – see photos

I am selling my Grandmother's collection of vast souvenirs and items to fund a new roof and lovingly restore her home 🏠.
My grandmother was an air hostess in the 1940s/50s and collected things from all over the world ✈️. She married my grandfather who was the pilot of her airline and they both collected unique finds over the years.
My grandmother then became an antiques dealer from the 1960s until she retired at grand age of 92!
I am finding such wonderful pieces of history, and I hope they bring you as much joy as it once did my grandparents.
Many thanks for looking.
