This is another thing that came out of my mother's things and recently a long storage. It was purchased during a world trip back in the '60s and was acquired in Jakarta, Indonesia, along with a wonderful Ladies Compact, shown in the last photo, that I'm going to showcase in a separate auction.
I believe she was going to use it as an application to possibly a purse, similar to the way I have shown it in one of my photos. It could easily be sewn on to almost anything. **IF INTERESTED IN THE BLACK "SAK" PURSE SHOWN, please contact me at the number below.
It's a piece of silver, known as Djokja silver, which was popular and created for export from what I understand, between the 1930s to the 1970s. It is very detailed with raised repoussé work, highlighting the familiar lotus blossom in the center surrounded by other leaf designs.
I have been unable to find a Hallmark but it is a typical piece of 800 silver that is called yogya silver, and has a 800/1000 parts pure silver content, and I guarantee it to be as stated.
