"In 1899, 20 year old Julia Fletcher put twenty-six photographs she had taken of buildings and scenes in her home town and placed them in an album. In the front of the album she wrote 'Souvenir of Westford, Christmas 1899.
In 1992 Ellen Harde, resident and student of Westford history, purchased the 1899 photo album from an antiquarian book dealer. Over the next two years, she identified eachof the original pictures, had each site re-photographed, and researched town records and other historical sources to tell the story of each old and new photograph."
