Expanding the Aputure tunable white lighting lineup, the compact STORM 400x LED Monolight is a point-source workhorse. It combines a powerful full-spectrum chipset with advanced dimming, professional color accuracy, a widely adaptable Bowens mount, and robust IP65 construction—perfect for high-end set work under any condition.
The BLAIR Chip Project
The STORM series features Aputure's breakthrough BLAIR chipset, utilizing blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red LEDs to deliver exceptional brightness and color accuracy. Rated 95 for both CRI and TLCI, the STORM 400x also scores an 87 SSI rating at 3200K and 5600K. Its multicolor diodes enhance color-matching capabilities, and the full CCT range of 2500K to 10,000K is supported by green-magenta color correction for precise white-point control. At 5600K, the light reaches 64,600 lux at 3.3 ft with the included 35° reflector.
Advanced Dimming and Connectivity
The included controller enables stepless dimming from 0.1% to 100%, maintaining flicker-free, color-accurate performance even at low output levels. Control options include wired and wireless protocols such as DMX, LumenRadio CRMX, Art-Net, sACN Ethernet, and Bluetooth app control via Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro—ideal for professional lighting workflows.
Build and Performance
Built for demanding environments, the STORM 400x features rugged IP65-rated construction for dust and weather resistance. Its Bowens S mount ensures compatibility with a wide range of Bowens-style modifiers, offering secure locking and easy attachment.
