"Around the Bar Textbook for Bartenders and Mixers” was published in 1934. It offers a comprehensive collection of tried-and-tested and internationally renowned cocktail recipes. The book was written by A. T. Neirath, Honorary President of the International Barkeepers' Union.


Written for bartenders: It is aimed at aspiring bartenders and offers practical guidance in bar operations as well as a variety of cocktail recipes popular in different countries in the early 20th century.

The book was compiled “with the help of experts” to ensure the quality of the information.


The book is divided into two main parts, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of the bartending profession and to promote uniform practice in bartending.


"Rund um die Bar" played an important role in the development of European bar culture, especially in Germany. It was published in response to the growing popularity of American-style bars and aimed to increase professionalism in bartending.
