This item is used, but has been cleaned, and fully tested, using all 16 SAS lanes, and all 16 SAS ports by actually connecting drives to each SAS port. This is a great upgrade if your Supermicro 836 has TQ or A or older SAS-2 backplane and you want to use a SAS-3 expander.
