1. The Reality of Prismatic and Pouch Cells

Myth: "Prismatic cells provide superior cranking performance and a 10-year lifespan in motorcycle batteries."

Reality: While true large-format prismatic cells excel in energy storage, the compact pouch cells commonly marketed as "prismatic" for motorcycle batteries are a different product. Although they offer lightweight power and high cranking amps, they suffer from critical flaws in this application:

  • Poor Vibration Resistance: The constant vibration in a motorcycle environment accelerates degradation and causes premature capacity loss.
  • Wrong Application: Their design is optimized for short-burst, weight-sensitive uses like drones, not for the enduring demands of gasoline engines.

2. Reject the CCA Numbers Game

Labeling Batteries with Inflated CCA Ratings Is Fraudulent.
