Captain Olimar also referred to as a simply Olimar is the main protagonist of the Pikmin series, and the main character in Pikmin, 1,2,3, and 4. Olimar appears as a supporting character in Pikmin 3 and even more so in Pikmin 4 with him even being a playable in his own side story mode Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, being set right before the events of the game.
Captain Olimar first appeared in the 2001 video game Pikmin for the Nintendo GameCube. In the game, he is a pilot whose ship, the S.S. Dolphin, is hit by a meteor, forcing him to crash-land on an unknown planet. He then enlists the native Pikmin to help him find the 30 parts of his ship before his life support runs out.
