With stems getting shorter on mountain bikes, connecting the handlebars directly to the fork seemed like a logical step. Combining stems and handlebars is nothing new. Instead, we want to bypass stems entirely. It was therefore necessary to reshape the handlebar to be closer to the steerer tube while keeping the grip in the same relative position as a traditional handlebar and stem. The circular cutout attaches directly to the fork, bolting it in from behind with bolts.
