The painting is titled: "Landscape II" created March 2023.
Starting with an abstract background rendered using a palette knife, I proceeded to carve out this strange form. I'm a big fan of science fiction, specifically that of the 70's and 80's. In no small way was this abstract composition inspired by those old book cover designs. I made this up as I went along, but as it took shape, it reminded me of a space port of some kind... but one constructed by an alien civilisation.
Rendered in artists quality oils on a stretched canvas measuring: 30cm x 25cm with a depth of 2cm. Ready to hang using the stretcher frame. Surrounds have been painted a similar blue used in the background of the painting. My initials have been added discretely to the bottom righthand corner.
