Vintage Cuban baseball card -- #77 - JUAN IBAGUIRRE -- was produced by Chicle Peloteros. Although it is spelled IBAGUIRRE on the card, I believe the player/coach's name is actually, JUAN IZAGUIRRE. This card was part of the 1956-1957 set -- I believe the last baseball card set produced in Pre-Castro Cuba. The Cuban Professional Baseball League featured many well-known U.S. players, plus many American Negro League players. This card measures approximately 2x3 inches, and it is printed on heavy card stock. The front has a full-color image of the player of the Cuban Professional Baseball League. The reverse side has printed information -- in Spanish -- featuring a brief biography of the player. The company also issued an card album with a place to affix each card of the set. Because this set was intended to be affixed inside a card album, cards from this set have sometimes been removed from the album pages -- which usually resulted in wear and lost text on the reverse side. PLEASE NOTE: We are not baseball card collectors and we know nothing about grading standards in the hobby. All cards are graded using a common sense condition guideline -- from poor to near mint. We don't know anything about specific grading systems for baseball cards. OVERALL CONDITION: GOOD ..... The card has some general signs of wear and handling, including; edge/corner wear, mild soiling, and some surface rub marks. The card back has some glue residue near the corners, but this does not affect the printed text. PLEASE CHECK OUR PHOTOS SHOWING THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CARD FOR MORE DETAILS ON THE CONDITION.
