Epoch 4 Gauge H0 / 1:87. Electric locomotive BR 181.2. Overcoming borders, building a common Europe: The dual-system locomotives of the 181.2 series ran to Luxembourg and France from 1974 onwards in front of famous trains such as the “Mozart”, the TEE “Goethe” or the Moscow – Paris sleeping car train.
For decades, the 181.2s pulled passenger and freight cars from all over the world and changed the power systems simply but reliably: At the border, the train driver inserted the German pantograph, quickly overcame a section without electricity and finally put on the French pantograph. The elegant, low locomotive body was the result of the lower French catenary. The fascinating 181.2 has made European history - and will continue to do so on many Trix systems: as a truly endlessly interesting model.
