How to wash a yukata
Please take care of your yukata.
When you wash a yukata, some of the dye will bleed off.
To prevent color migration, please be sure to wash the yukata by itself when washing it at home.
Basically, the more alkaline the pH is, the more the color will fade.
If you use a detergent, be sure to use a neutral detergent.
The less water used for washing, the darker the dye will become, and the higher the possibility of color migration.
Also, the warmer the water, the more easily the dye will run.
Please wash in plenty of cold water.
When dehydrating, place the yukata on a large bath towel, then wrap it between the bath towels and roll it up.
When drying the yukata, it is best to hang it on a clothesline with both sleeves taut.
If it is not possible to hang it on a high position, hang it on the side with the back of the yukata as the axis.
The trick is to iron it while it is still half-dry.
