CIVIL WAR- 1897 SONS OF VETERANS APPOINTMENT - PENN DIVISION

         


DESCRIPTION

1897 Appointment for H.C. Detwiler, 11" x 8 3/8, for Quartermaster of Headquarters Sons of Veterans, Headquarters Sons of Veterans, 
 The Lieutenant S. C. Potts Camp No. 12 of the Sons of Veterans, Altoona, Pennsylvania, (1882 - 1919), mustered  21 members in January of 1882.
Sons of Veterans was a general term used in the United States at the turn of the 20th century for fraternal organizations of men whose fathers fought in the United States Civil War. It may refer to Sons of Confederate Veterans, or Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
A bit of age toning, some use and wear, o/w Gd- VG condition.
