This interesting little booklet discusses archeological evidence of trades and small industries that were started at the Jamestown Colony after the arrival of the colonists in 1607.  All that is left of this enterprise as it was later abandoned after all sorts of bad luck and poor decisions.

Trades include cooperage, possibly glass making, pottery, metal smithing, ice harvesting and woodworking, as well as sewing and of course farming. The story of Jamestown is indeed a fascinating story of the human striving and the very early beginnings of our country. Many in England at the time were living in difficult circumstances and they took a huge chance embarking on this expedition. The leaders hoped to make a fortune from the investment.

Good condition, very light scuffing to covers and there is a penciled number on the front cover. An embossed stamp on the title page reads "James C. Goodson Library of Early Tools and Trades "
