Flow restrictors in RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems control the flow rate of wastewater leaving the membrane. 

• Creates pressure: They slow down the flow of wastewater, which builds up pressure inside the RO membrane housing.

• Helps filtration: That pressure forces water through the RO membrane, improving filtration

• Prevents waste: Without a flow restrictor, water would rush out too fast, reducing efficiency and wasting filtered water.

So basically, they balance the system to ensure clean water gets properly filtered without wasting too much.
