Original Design: Print layers blended using this Nylon Carbon Fiber Blend.
Don't settle for non-heat-resistant PLA or non-textured ABS plastic knock-offs that exaggerate the layer lines. Zoom in on the images of other independent listings to evaluate the surface quality and ensure they haven't absconded with the pictures from my listing.
Version 4
Motivation for design: My friend wanted a new shift knob for her MINI, but the trim ring broke when she removed the old one. She wanted to retain the elegance of her JCW by avoiding replacing the trim ring with a popular alternative that exposes the shift rod, which would make her car look like a race car. To retain the JCW appeal, I designed these trim rings so the red stitch/black leatherette boot could remain.
What it is: 3D-printed shifter trim and boot/gaiter retainer for Gen 2 MINI Coopers. The material is Nylon-12 reinforced with carbon fiber (PA12-CF) and annealed at 80 °C for 1 h. This piece is usually only found grouped with complete boot/shifter knob assemblies costing more than $98. This option offers an inexpensive alternative to keep the original boot styling that came with your MINI if the retainer clips break when replacing shifter components
This item DOES NOT INCLUDE boot/gaiter, shift knob, or beige fastening cap (A REPLACEMENT CAN BE OBTAINED HERE: https://www.ebay.com/itm/167493947662) seen in photos. Only the multi-tab ring is provided.

NOTE:
Pressure should be applied so the boot clips enter the receptacle evenly.
While this adapter is made from a material similar to the OEM (CF-ABS: carbon fiber ABS plastic), the clips will break if they are not aligned with the receiving slots in the console. Ensure the clips are "clocked" correctly.
It is difficult to remove the item from the topside after it's inserted into the console, so plan accordingly or remove the clips from the bottom side of the console.
Version History
Ver. 1 - Original printed in Nylon Carbon Fiber
Ver. 2 - Clips of Ver. 1 were adjusted to reduce/eliminate breakage on insertion from the top of the console and removal from the bottom if slightly off-center.
Ver. 3 - Thickened a clip by 0.06 mm to fix the single clip breakage on handling, and remedied ring-distortion via mailing experienced by some customers.
