Crafted from materials like wood, faience, or stone, these figurines were often inscribed with spells from the Book of the Dead or similar texts to magically activate them. They varied in style, quality, and quantity depending on the deceased's status, with some holding tools to symbolize their work. Placed in tombs, ushabtis ensured a comfortable afterlife by taking on the owner's duties, embodying ancient Egyptian beliefs in the afterlife and providing modern archaeologists with valuable insights into their funerary practices and spiritual worldview.
