This early Donato Vilches etched fighting dagger is a hand-forged weapon crafted in a coal fire in Mexico during the 1930s. This beautiful weapon features an 11" blade with a 15" total measurement.
The handle is made of brass and bone, adding a touch of elegance to this unique collectible piece. Created by the renowned craftsperson Donato Vilches, this dagger is a rare and valuable addition to any knife or historical artifact collection.
100% Mexican company with origins in the city of León, Guajanuato, was established in 1912 by "Don Felix Vilches Zuñiga", dedicated from its inception to the development of hand tools including: hammers, tweezers and pliers for shoemaker, knives and blades for different uses, all  products made by hand, relying solely on a forge (furnace heat produced by coal, and an air blower to provide the required temperature), with mallets and anvils to give by "forging" the desired figure.

The Spanish inscription on the blade reads "I will fight if my owner claims it".

A rare and elegant piece.....
