The John Lim "Kites Flying" serigraph pencil signed print is a unique and collectible piece that captures the whimsical and eclectic style of the artist. This contemporary artwork from the 1970s to 1980s features a primitive fantasy theme and showcases the production technique of serigraphy. Actual print area, measuring approx. 20 inches in length and 24 inches in height, this unframed print is an original piece made in New York, USA. This artwork is dated 1980
This print has "foxing" on the edges. The print area seems clean. If you do not know what foxing is concerning prints, just do a simple search of "Foxing on art prints".
Note: This in not a numbered piece. Most un-numbered prints either carried P.P Printers Proof or A.P. Artists Proof. You had P.P. and then A.P. copies that were inspected by the printer or actual artist, prior to the production run of which they were numbered. The P.P and A.P. copies were normally signed (as this example) then given away to special friends or company employees. They were not part of the numbered run and are much harder to find. Some had special messages. ("Special thanks"..."To my Friend", etc.) This copy is NOT personalized.
This is a piece marked E.A. meaning épreuve d'artiste. It indicates that the print was an artist's proof. The printmaker likely produced it for their own collection or to test the printing process. "EA" prints were not meant to be sold or distributed to the public. But there is always the exception. So this print is rare indeed.
