TWELVE POINT CHUMPI STONE
THIS CHUMPI KHUYA CARRIES THE APUS SACRED ENERGY
IS CARVED IN CALIZA STONE 

This is a twelve-point Chumpi stone; it is hand-carved by a Shaman in the Andean village near Cusco. Each point represents a sacred mountain of the valley of Cusco and is connected with them; this stone carries energy. The three rings around each Apu represent the three worlds of existence: upper, middle, and lower. Chumpi stones have been used in ceremonies for centuries. The features in the stone are: Condor and Serpent. These features were considered Sacred items during the Inca Culture. They are symbolic representatives of the three levels: the Condor represents the Upper World of the Gods, "Hanan Pacha"; the God of peace; the serpent represents the lower or underworld, " Uqhu Pacha- Pachamama," Mother Earth, God of fertility. This stone was part of a sacred healing ceremony; the stone carvings are in high relief.


Chumpi Stones: The Stones hold the keys to the cosmology of the Inca culture and have the power to generate a web of connection with the elements of creation: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and pure spirit.

The names of the 12 sacred mountains are: Apu Sacsayhuaman, Apu Salcantay, Apu Ausangate, Apu Pachatusan, Apu Senccapicol, Apu Machupicchu, Apu Veronica, Apu Pumahuanca, Apu Salkantay, Apu Yanakara, Apu Ccorao, and Apu Chicon.
