A beautiful early 1970s Pioneer system. Fully working and ready to use.
All components in walnut and each manufactured between 1970 and 1974.
The set comprises of;
a 1970 Pioneer PL-15D record player. Belt driven and completely original, this deck with grey steel platter on a tiered walnut plinth is absolutely stable. It is by design a semi automatic deck, tracking beautifully and silently. It comes with its original smoked perspex lid in fantastic condition and a wonderful sounding Shure M75G stylus the original owner bought it with.
An absolute joy to use and look at. The turntable retains it's original instructions and service manual from the original owner.
A 1972 Pioneer SA500 amplifier - it is in timewarp condition with original paperwork, box and packaging - even it's original Pioneer elasticated dust cover has been preserved. It's the first amplifier my father had on the 1970s. Matching the TX500 tuner, with original textured black casing, brushed aluminium fascia and walnut trim pieces. The knobs and caps are all original and aside from very light marks it's in absolutely fantastic condition and sounds incredible. The knobs are quiet to turn, the sound even on both channels and has no unwanted hums glitches or other issues.
A 1972 Pioneer ST-500 tuner again in timewarp condition with original paperwork, box and packaging.
Reception wise it picks up stations with ease. The illuminated dial looks fabulous in the evening. Even the signal strength meter is working and fully illuminated.
A set of 1973 Pioneer CS-44 speakers in good working condition. They have their Pioneer lattice grills, Pioneer badges and remain in full working order. The amplifier will run a larger pair of speakers but these are very good for small to mid sized rooms. They are finished in walnut and have some marks and wear from time but they are in excellent shape for their age.
The Spendor BC-1 stands are not included but they are fairly commonplace and suit the system well in my opinion.
The whole system will be a sad parting but it's been an absolute pleasure to own. It will come with its correct (aftermarket) Pioneer speaker plugs, attached to high quality 16 AWG speaker wire. Aerial and all interlinking phono connectors are included.
The new owner will only be the second owner of this beautiful system.
A really lovely opportunity to own one of the finer systems of it's era. In Pioneers words from their early 1970s brochures "You can't expect great music unless you have great equipment"
Collection preferred where the system will be demonstrated with a cup of tea!
However if payment is met then I would consider using a reputable 3rd party courier to carefully deliver the system with agreement of this prior to purchase please.
Please note these speaker stands are not included unless otherwise agreed prior to purchase.
If stands are needed then please drop me a line before purchase, as I should be able to build a bespoke pair in matching walnut included in price.
Thank you for looking
