This is the hard cover book Ralph Raymond's Heir by Horatio Alger, Jr. This is a Hurst & Company edition. The first edition was in 1892 by another publisher. This is likely from the early 1900's but I do not know the date. I know nothing about these other than that there are many different editions as well as different cover and spine pictures. This one is about 7 3/8" x 5" and has 154 numbered pages followed by some pages of book ads.. The front cover features a person on a train with a stack of books, I think called train boy. The spine features a picture of what looks like a walking paper boy.
This copy is in rough condition. Lots of wear and yellowing and stains. Some pen and ink writing inside the front. Binding showing in multiple places, etc.
Please study photos for condition.
